NEW PPA Advisory

More good changes as Peak Season heats up! The new PPA Advisory brings much-needed relief to all Non-Temp Storage TSPs and Storage-in-Transit (SIT) agents seeking approval from the PPA Storage Branch.

Now, storage warehouses at least 50 feet from active rails will be approved, and existing DOW-approved warehouses within 50 feet are exempt, pending submission and approval of a formal written request. This is a major win for storage businesses and the military families depending on the safe and secure storage of their personal belongings as they serve our nation.

One of the biggest champions for this change has been Steve Weitekamp, President of the California Moving and Storage Association (CMSA) and MFA Ambassador.

The advisory also includes:

Warehouses near non-active tracks can still be approved with written confirmation from a local, city, or state official.
Approval letters will be issued within 14 government business days of a complete submission.
