GHC Loose Ends

GHC Loose Ends

Last week, we learned that moving professionals in the DP3 Program were once again being tasked with picking up the pieces of the failed GHC. After the contract was canceled in June, the prime contractor said they’d finish all in-progress shipments, including those stuck in storage. But the recent advisory from TRANSCOM confirmed what many movers suspected: that commitment has been quietly walked back, leaving our industry to pick up the slack again.

Another promise broken by the GHC contractor, another loose end to tie up from a failed contract model. And another example of how saving the dropped/missed/cancelled moves of the GHC was only possible because of experienced movers and companies in a competitive program.

If a program can’t even be shut down smoothly, it’s time to move on. We’re ready to move forward and help the DOD design a system that actually works for military families — one grounded in real-world logistics, not contractor “promises.”

That’s why we’re gathering real input from the people who’ve kept this system running. Take a minute to check out the NEW survey (below), because the path forward could benefit from the voices of the people actually doing the work.
