. As Peak Season pushes forward and the DP3 program once again steps up to serve military families, the Department of Defense is making progress in assembling the task force to unpack how the Global Household Goods Contract (GHC) went so spectacularly off the rails.
TRANSCOM

recently shared

its optimism for the future. Now, let’s hope we can avoid repeating recent history.

Some 20 individuals have already been chosen, and we’re told the task force will grow to
more than 50
members. It’s encouraging to hear TRANSCOM Commander Maj. Gen. Curtis acknowledge the frustrations surrounding the rollout — and even more promising to hear him say the task force will focus on
“trust, timeliness, and accountability.”
His comments also emphasized the importance of clear standards, oversight, and consequences — three things the GHC sorely lacked.

The moving companies and professionals who have relocated service families for more than 75 years – and who helped DOD work through the complexities of moving during the pandemic – are committed to a successful path forward.
Movers know what works and what doesn’t within the realities of the marketplace,
and they’re ready to contribute their expertise to build a transformative system that serves DOD and our service branches and families.

Hopefully, the task force will include industry representatives and will seek the insights we’re ready to share.
