Reminder: Take the CMMC Level 2 Compliance Survey
Movers for America is working on moving policy to support the industry, and we need your help providing key data to U.S. Senators. 

MFA is actively working with U.S. Senators and key staff to ensure military movers are eligible to apply for a grant to help offset the costs of CMMC Level 2 Compliance. The proposed grant is part of the Senate’s draft National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for 2027. As a reminder, the NDAA sets the annual policies and budget for DoW programs.

Transport Topics: Trucking groups challenge bill that expands labor arbitration

ATA is among the organizations opposing the legislation. Trucking industry stakeholders are warning that the Faster Labor Contracts Act would reshape negotiations after the bill recently cleared the House and moved to the Senate. The bill mandates binding arbitration for parties in a labor contract that fail to reach a first agreement after 90 days of bargaining and 30 days of mediation. READ MORE

Breaking Defense: Senate’s stopgap funding bill rejects special requests for Trump battleship, munitions

Senate appropriators on Sunday unveiled a bipartisan continuing resolution that would keep federal funding flowing until Dec. 11, but rejected a White House request to provide $1 billion for the Trump-class battleship program. If passed, the continuing resolution (CR) would prevent the government from shutting down on Oct. 1, when fiscal 2027 starts and as lawmakers depart Capitol Hill ahead of midterm elections in November. The bill is set to move through a procedural vote tonight. READ MORE
