MFA Making Policy Moves
MFA is working to ensure military movers would be eligible for the Senate’s proposed grant program to help small businesses offset the costs of achieving Level 2 Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) compliance. Unfortunately, as currently drafted in the Senate’s draft of the annual Defense bill, the grant program is only available to companies that must undergo a third-party Level 2 assessment.
We plan to share more information next week about how you can help advocate for this change.

NEW Short Fuse with National Military Family Association
Mold speads quick and can be costly for military families – and movers. Katie is joined by MJ Boice of the National Military Families Association to unpack the MOLD Act, which aims to protect military families from moldy housing conditions and help stop mold in its tracks. Like MJ said, you’d be “hard-pressed to find a family who has moved or has lived the military life who either hasn’t experienced it first-hand, or knows someone who did.”

Federal News Network: Senate NDAA proposes CMMC grant program
The Senate Armed Services Committee has advanced legislation that would set up a grant program for small businesses and nontraditional contractors to cover the costs of Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) compliance.

Transport Topics (Bloomberg): Oil drops below prewar prices on Saudi supply rebound
Oil deepened its slide below prewar levels as Saudi Arabia ramped up crude exports toward normal rates, extending the recovery in flows from the Persian Gulf and heightening the prospect of a supply surplus. Brent futures slipped to near $70 a barrel in London, hitting their lowest since the week before the Iran war began on Feb. 28. Saudi Arabia managed to load crude at almost 90% of previous levels after restarting shipments late last week from its giant Ras Tanura terminal, according to vessel-tracking data compiled by Bloomberg. U.S. benchmark West Texas Intermediate dipped to near $67 a barrel. READ MORE
DefenseScoop: Trump administration announces ‘War Force’ effort
The Pentagon and Office of Personnel Management announced a recruiting effort Tuesday that officials are calling “War Force.” The initiative doesn’t seek to hire trigger-pullers but rather AI experts and other software engineers that could “embed down to the unit level across the department” to support operational needs and “ensure a more lethal United States military,” according to an OPM press release.
