Professionals continue to raise GHC concerns to TRANSCOM, but is anyone listening? Here are some excerpts from a letter that Stefan Cordeiro, President of Stewart Moving & Storage in Jacksonville, FL, sent to Andy Dawson and shared on Facebook:
Here’s the reality you need to face:
- The GHC program is failing, and industry professionals have been warning you since day one. We were ignored.
- Rate “reasonableness” is a joke. It’s arbitrary, unsustainable, and directly harming the backbone of this industry: the drivers.
- Drivers are leaving. There is no incentive for them to haul military shipments this peak season, especially under these rates.
- Our company, which services a major portion of the southeast region, will be scaling back. We cannot—and will not—operate at a loss for the sake of politics.
- Service members will suffer. That’s the truth, and the responsibility will land squarely on your office.

Where Will the 16,000 Shipments Go?
According to TRANSCOM’s dashboard, about 16,000 shipments are sitting out there waiting to be booked. Peak season is almost here, so what’s the plan? Will TRANSCOM entrust those shipments to the beleaguered GHC or continue to rely on the DP3 safety net? And given TRANSCOM’s persistent disregard of industry concerns, will the capacity be there in the DP3 to handle the load?
Moving thousands of military families takes planning — hiring workers, getting trucks and supplies ready, and making big investments ahead of time. These families deserve a smooth, well-organized move, not last-minute chaos. They’ve sacrificed for us — we owe them better.
